We did a thing today.... We bought a TAXA Mantis camping trailer! We figured since all our other plans for the year were shot, now was as good a time as any to invest in our love of camping. In keeping with the Simrak style, we bought the thing and left three hours later for a ten day trip. We packed up the three boys, dog, and all our crap. We were pleasantly surprised at how well everything fit in it. Off we go on our maiden voyage!

Last night we made it to the Badlands, cooked a phenomenal taco dinner and survived our first hail storm in the Cricket! 🙌🏻 🌮 ⛈
It was incredible watching the storm roll in across the prairie, anticipating and anxiously wondering about it’s strength. But just as quickly as it rolled in, it moved on and left us with an evening sky that could not have been more beautiful. .

Fill your tank full of gas and just go💛
The campgrounds will be full.
The hotels will be booked.
The roads will be bumper to bumper with moms in suburbans who make reservations and have their itinerary all planned out.
Fear not.
You'll get up early and make friends with a campground host named Larry who hooks you up.
You'll bathe every morning in a Montana river and fall asleep looking at the stars.
You'll find yourself laughing till your tummy hurts in the middle of nowhere Wyoming, eating peach pie after dinner in a small town cafe.
You'll watch your boys fly fish in the Yellowstone river and eat ice cream cones in wildflower meadows. .
In a week you'll be sitting outside a laundromat with your legs in the sun, listening to country radio coming out of the open door and wonder which way you should head tomorrow 💛.

I just had a crazy idea to pull off the storage compartment lid in the Tigermoth and put the fridge there. I think it’s gonna work! Makes me feel better knowing all that weight is in front of the axle. Also, it’s cloudy and rainy today and the panels are pulling some v’s! I’m so excited this is all coming together. I just want to throw a huge thank you out to everyone that has reached out to help me figure this out. You know who you are!
