Tell us a little about yourself and why you own a TAXA?

We have been tent camping with kids, now 10 & 8, ever since they could walk. Much of our time was spent loading our car to fit all the things we needed to bring along (thank goodness Felicia is a master at tetris!). We were ready to go further and explore more but wanted better accommodations. We decided on a trailer but didn't want to go the traditional route. After lots of research, the Taxa Mantis was the perfect fit. Taxa's "out is in" lifestyle was an easy embrace. The Mantis draws you outdoors, but provides all the comforts we need. The versatility allows us to easily go anywhere we want with a comfortable "home away from home." This means more adventuring and exploration!

Where is your favorite place to take your TAXA?

We spent our first summer in the Mantis exploring our home state of Colorado. While all of these places were awesome in their own way, the Great Sand Dunes takes the cake.

Who do you explore with?

We love to explore with anyone willing! Mostly, it's our family: Kyle, Felicia, Aila, Ben, and our dog Pepper. Felicia's Sister, husband and two boys also own a Mantis, so we often travel with them.

What are your favorite outdoor activities?

Hiking and off-roading are our top two. We are always searching for the next great trail, leading us to somewhere beautiful and unique. Bonus if there is water nearby. A creek, pond, lake...the kids are always throwing rocks and getting their feet wet.

Do you have any hacks or mods that you've done to your habitat to enhance your travels?

Just a few additions so far:
- Dometic Fridge
- 200W Solar Panel
- Wired up and mounted some charging stations for our electronics
- Various nets and mounts for more storage

Tell us your favorite unique habitat story.

While camping with friends who had a tent site, we were caught off guard by a heavy downpour. Rather than them wait it out alone in their tent, all eight of us hung out in the Mantis. It was surprisingly comfortable!

What's one place you'd love to explore?

Pacific Northwest - we're coming for you
