Tell us a little about yourself and why you own a TAXA?

We've always loved the outdoors and exploring, but since having kids, we needed a better way to take our home on the road and have a home-base for our adventures. The Mantis is the perfect combination of having creature comforts while still encouraging outdoor experiences.

Where is your favorite place to take your TAXA?

Currently, we use our Taxa to explore places we can get the most out of in a weekend, but our goal is to take her all over the continent.

Who do you explore with?

We love to explore with friends, but mainly we go out as a family, which includes our three kids and two dogs (the cats have to stay behind, unfortunately, lol).

What are your favorite outdoor activities?

Off-roading, hiking, and kayaking.

Do you have any hacks or mods that you've done to your habitat to enhance your travels?

We purchased Sidio cases, which are great for organization and storage inside the Mantis. We also installed a $5.00 cargo net above the dinette that we purchased from Harbor Freight. We still have more to do and hope to showcase our "hacks" on social media to help others get some ideas.

Tell us your favorite unique habitat story.

The first time we ever towed anything was the day we picked up our Taxa Mantis. We had to tow our Mantis from Virginia to Kentucky in an eight hour drive, at night, through some pretty unideal traffic situations (torrential rain, road construction with narrow, one-lane passages with barricades on both sides, and steep mountain passes etc.), but we were surprised at how well she performed even for first-timers. Our happiness and excitement on bringing home our new habitat exceeded any anxieties we encountered on that crazy night.

What's one place you'd love to explore?

Our goal is to explore the Trans-America Trail, which is a fancy way of saying the entire United States.

I can't leave home without my...

Mantis! Also, our camera, drone, and a good pocket knife.
